Effective-Accomplished-Driven-Organized-Efficient-Systematic-Pro-Active Project Management

The intricacy's involved in today's building process demands qualified professionals. Sierra Pacific Constructors works diligently in recruiting and training the supervision team we provide to build our projects. Each project is managed throughout a carefully established project management process:

  • Project Schedule:
Sierra Pacific will provide the leadership role in establishing, monitoring, and updating the project schedule. We facilitate all team members in organizing their responsibilities to create the most expedient timeline. This communication tool between team members is regularly updated during various stages of the construction process with the focus being an organized and efficient communication method resulting in an on-time completion.
  • Cost Controls:
Sierra Pacific's project team will maintain the project budget with cost management controls. We pool our experience to manage "The Bottom Line" aggressively to meet your budget goals, assuring the greatest value is achieved on your project.
  • Discerning selection of qualified subcontractors and material suppliers:
During the procurement process vendor selection is a critical step in the success of your project. With our large volume of local projects, Sierra Pacific has built excellent relationships with many commercial construction vendors, allowing us to offer you subcontractors and material suppliers with a proven record of quality workmanship, timely performance, and competitive pricing.
  • Safety Management:
We believe the safety of our jobsites is one of the most important responsibilities we provide to our employees, subcontractors, and the public in and around our jobsites. The genuine concern for the worker and public safety is part of our company culture and everyday life at Sierra Pacific. Our Safety Program revolves around incident-free sites and has earned us an impressive .84 experience modification rating with our workers compensation insurance company!
  • Quality Control:
With over 25 years of construction experience our quality control process has been continually refined, allowing Sierra Pacific to deliver projects of the highest quality and successfully meeting our client's goals and expectations. With a proactive program Identifying potential issues or non-conforming work early in the process we believe a "Zero Punch List" is achievable.
  • Change Management:
We have established ourselves as our clients trusted advisor during the change management process. Our process of information management within the project team and our ability to develop accurate in-house cost estimates allow our clients to remain well informed and help them to determine which solutions are best for the project.
  • Self-Performed work:
We subcontract 80% of our total annual volume, however we believe it is important to self-perform work on selected projects with our in-house forces in the following trades, soft demolition, drywall, doors & frames, electrical, carpentry, and concrete. Having the capability to perform this work in-house gives us a competitive advantage and provides our clients with better control over the project schedule and budget.
  • Disruption Management:
We understand the need to adapt to the demands and unique requirements of each client when performing work in occupied buildings. Sierra Pacific communicates and carefully plans with project team members to protect and insulate occupied areas from the construction process.
  • Communication Documentation between project team members:
We believe the ability to communicate between team members including Client, Architect, Landlord, Project Manager, General Contractor, Subcontractors, Governing Agencies, and Client Vendors is key to a successful project. Our project management system and required participation of the above disciplines creates clear, defined goals as the project develops.
  • Submittal/Shop Drawing/Sample/Mock Up process management:
This process of material sample review, shop drawing coordination and mock-up presentation is a critical step in our quality control of the project, technical coordination between trades, and project team communication.
  • Progress and final site inspections:
Sierra Pacific completes over 100 projects each year in the greater Los Angeles area. This has allowed our site personal to develop relationships with many of the building departments and other jurisdictions overseeing the inspection and approval process. Developing these relationships based on our technical abilities, safety skills, and compliance with governing agency requirements has allowed Sierra Pacific to earn a reputation as a trusted firm, thereby facilitating project delivery and to streamline the overall inspection process.
  • Construction close out procedures:
As the project progresses, as-built information is maintained, governing agency approvals are granted, new equipment manuals are collected, subcontractors and vendors issue warranties, project accounting is audited. This project information creates a historical "Project Close Out Manual" which is turned over to the client at the conclusion of each project.

We approach each project with a well-founded, tried and true project management process, yet through "lessons learned" and success factor measurements on each project, and as technology advances we are constantly fine-tuning our process to add innovation and value to better serve our customers.
